Central Arkansas at Texas Tech: August 30th, 6 p.m. CT (Texas Tech TV on Fox Sports)
Texas Tech at UTEP: September 6th, 10 p.m. CT (Fox Sports 1)
Arkansas at Texas Tech: September 13th, 2:30 p.m. CT (ABC, ESPN or ESPN2)
Texas Tech at Oklahoma State: September 25th, 6:30 p.m. CT (ESPN)

Big 12 Meetings. The Big 12 and the athletic directors are meeting and hater of all things David Ubben has an excellent notebook.  They discuss the weak non-conference schedules (Ubben mentions Baylor's new series with Incarnate Word) that could result in teams being left out of the mix and Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby said that teams want to avoid playing bottom 100 team. They also discuss the fact that there doesn't seem to be any momentum for an early signing period and some other tings. Ubben also writes about how Bowlsby discussed the need to change the recruiting rules which may just entail using technology to assist in initial visits as well as potentially two official paid visits.

California vs. Texas vs. Florida. The dot com asked us to put together our starting 22 of players just from the great state of Texas and now that list has turned into a battle royale where teams from Florida and California are included.  You can thank DoubleTFaithful and MikeTTU for assisting on our end, but there is only two players from Texas Tech, Jakeem Grant and Ryan Bustin that make the team.  There's a poll at the bottom and right now Florida is leading by a country mile, which isn't a surprise because Florida folks tend to over-vote.#
