Sweep: Just in case you were wondering, the Texas Tech baseball team is playing pretty well right now, have won 8 in a row and just swept Prairie View A&M this past weekend. You can catch up with every recap, box score, LAJ article and video highlights all in one place (via VTM). The baseball team will play New Mexico on Monday, then TCU after that and will host Oklahoma this weekend. George Watson writes that Texas Tech has done enough to get into the NCAA Tournament, but it is close (LAJ):
Tech has 13 games left, and the most important number staring them in the face right now is 40. 40 wins. That seems to be a magic number when it comes to NCAA selections.
If Tech wins each of its three remaining Big 12 series (not counting any sweeps), which is very doable, that’s 38 wins. For argument’s sake, say the Red Raiders win the home series and lose the road series. That still puts them at 37.

Kithuka is Awesome: Kennedy Kithuka ran his first 5,000 meter race competitively and he won by 5 seconds or so at the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, California (via Texas Tech). For those of you keeping track, Kithuka is making history and obliterated Texas Tech's prior record. And the guy at the top of the page isn't Kithuka, it is Evans Tuitoek, who won the 1,500 meter event.

Revolving Door of QB's: Don Williams editorializes the revolving door of quarterbacks and I think he ultimately comes to the decision that this is all Davis Webb's fault for being awesome and dominating (or just a young quarterback) and for being chosen by head coach Kliff Kingsbury as being the quarterback that Kingsbury hopes leads this team to a Big 12 title (via LAJ). Williams also notes that this isn't affecting Kingsbury on the recruiting trail. I'm still not all that worried about this situation. It stinks a bit, but quarterback is the one position where guys really want to play. The LAJ also has a timeline of quarterbacks that transferred (via LAJ).

Kingsbury Likes the Spurs and Popovich and Breaking Bad and Think that He Should Just Marry SARR and LSRR: Welp, this officially one way for me to question Kingsbury's judgment as he says he likes the Spurs and watches a lot of their games (via SAEN). This is just horrible for those of us that had respect for our head football coach. Actually, I'm kidding, Pop is great, one of the greatest ever and that's coming from a Mavs fan:
"Coach Popovich is able to develop things like that all of the time. They just win, and it's incredible. He stays undercover and never gets the love he probably deserves. He doesn't want it. He just wins."

South Carolina's president outlines the new NCAA structure and from what I can tell, the NCAA is set to vote on all of these things on Thursday, which is a day before the Northwestern union vote (via Chicago Tribune). This is essentially an outline of how the NCAA is going to change, or at least hopes to vote for these measures on Thursday.
