THE ANALYSIS

Key Matchup | Tharpe vs. Turner: Texas Tech has to find match-up that they clearly win. With Crockett not quite up to his usual self, I think the next best option is Turner, who needs to look to create more offense for himself. Turner has played well of late, but the offense just hasn’t been as good without Crockett as a legitimate threat. It would also help to have Turner create and kick the ball out to Hannahs and Gotcher for some better looks.

Take Aim: Most likely, this isn’t going to be pretty. This is Kansas’ senior day and it seems like the schedule-makers have done this a couple of times to Texas Tech. It is never fun to play a team on senior night, much less the best team in the Big 12 that might be a little motivated to kick the crud out of the team that kept it close in Lubbock.

Joel Embiid won’t play tonight, which is a good thing, and it would be nice to see Kravic get the upper hand on his match-up with Black. Black isn’t the player that Embiid is, not even close and Kravic was okay against Embiid. As mentioned above, I simply don’t know how Texas Tech keeps it close without a fully healthy Crockett. He is a warrior and it stinks how he is injured at this point of his career.

Again, Kansas is the best of the Big 12 and it really isn’t all that close despite the close looking records for the Big 12. Kansas is 7th in the KenPom rankings and the next closest team is Oklahoma St. at 24th.
