Texas Tech Loses Series: Texas Tech didn't go down easy.  Texas took a 2-0 lead for a good part of the game, but Texas Tech managed 2 runs in the 9th inning, one consisting of Zach Davis stealing home with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th.  Texas Tech's pitching couldn't hang on and lost in 12 innings, 5-2 (via Texas TechBox ScoreLAJDT).  I do think that Texas is the best team in the Big 12 this early in the season and they each had a blowout win and played to the wire in the third game.  Texas Tech is going to have to figure out what they are going to do with the Friday night starter as Dominic Moreno has given Texas Tech two not-so-good outings on Friday night. Plus, the Saturday starter has been Cameron Smith, who really starts in name only as Jonny Drozd is lifting most of the load. Chris Sadberry has been pretty terrific on Sunday.

Final Big 12 Power Rankings: It's hard to argue with 9th place overall on Ubben's final Big 12 basketball rankings (via FSSW). I'm not as concerned about replacing Tolbert's scoring, although I am not at all suggesting that his presence won't be missed.  It will, but he was pretty inconsistent and could disappear for long stretches of a game and for multiple games.  Some young guys and inexperienced guys are going to have to step-up, that's for sure.

Midland Scrimmage: I wrote as much as I could on Sunday morning about the Midland scrimmage, so make sure and check that out for news, notes, links and video.  If you are pining for some additional video I found this bit this morning (via Permian Basin 360).
