The Lady Raiders (6-22, 0-17) take on the Oklahoma Sooners (17-13, 8-9) this afternoon at Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, OK at 4:00pm CST. This is the final Big 12 Conference Regular Season game for both of these teams before the Big 12 Tournament.  This game will be the 50th time Tech and OU have played. The series is in OU's favor at 27-22. The Sooners have had Tech's number in the past few years. Most of the games have been tight but the Lady Raiders have fallen short to OU, losing in the final seconds in many of the games. There is a glimmer of hope as the Sooners were picked to finish in 1st place in the pre-conference poll and Tech was picked to finish 10th and the current standings have OU at the 6th place in the Big12.  Also, WV reminded us that Senior Night for a possible better opponent does not always result in a win for the favored team as the Lady Mountaineers beat the Baylor Bears in Waco, TX on Sunday.

The Lady Raiders have played with gumption and energy in each and every game and had a few games that went down to the wire. I hope the Lady Raiders can pull out the win today and then go into the Big12 Tournament with a little bit of motivation.  Tech has improved over the season and they have gotten better each game, especially in the later part of Big12 play.

The Sooners are led by Senior Guard Aaryn Ellenberg, who scores over 18.7 ppg and averages 4.3 rebounds.  Junior Guard Sharane Campbell averages over 12.3 ppg and 5.4 rpg.  Senior Center Nicole Griffin is their strongest rebounder with an average of 5.9 rpg and averages 10.6 ppg and has 21 blocks this season. Senior Guard Morgan Hook adds 10.7 ppg  of which two-thirds are from the 3-Pt range and she averages five Assists per game.  While OU may have a height advantage on Texas Tech, Griffin is 6'6", they have not been consistent on the boards.

The Sooners' Head Coach, Sherri Coale is in her 18th season with Oklahoma. Her career record is 398-192 and with Oklahoma. During Coale's reign at OU, she has won four Big12 Coach of the Year awards. Sherri Coale and the Sooners lead all coaches and teams in Big12 Conference wins and winning percentage. In the 15 years since the Big12 was formed, the Sooners lead with 179-97 regular-season wins (.649) in conference play.
