Red Raider Hardball | Texas Tech Sweeps ORU and BYU

New, comments

The Texas Tech baseball team continues their winning ways as they sweep Oral Roberts and BYU in the weekend series and rise to #26 in the polls.

As previously mentioned, if you have any photos of the baseball team or the field or the stadium and you would like to see them on VTM, feel free to email them to me and that would give us some variety on the front page.

Sweep: Pretty good little weekend for the baseball club as they swept Oral Roberts in three games and won their single game against BYU (via Texas Tech, LAJ and DT).

Texas Tech gets an outstanding performance from freshman Dylan Dusek, who went 5 innings, allowing 3 hits, walking none and striking out 2. There were a handful of relievers that finished out the game and Ryan Moseley pitched the final frame, notching his first save of the year. Eric Gutierrez, Hunter Redman and Ryan Long all notch an RBI.

#26 in the Polls: Now that Texas Tech is 7-1, the Red Raiders have moved up to #26 in the NCBWA poll (via Texas Tech). The Red Raiders will have a single game against SFA on Thursday and then participate in the Houston College Classic at Minute Maid Park.

Long Named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week: Congrats to freshman Ryan Long for being named the freshman of the week (via Big 12). I've mentioned this before and I'll stop after this, but Ryan's dad delivered diesel to my dad's farm for a couple of decades. Really good family.
