Texas Tech Morning Links | Baseball Breaks into Polls; Amaro's Draft Stock; Ofor Out for Spring

The Texas Tech baseball team broke into two national polls after a 3-1 series win against #3 Indiana. NFL's Mike Mayock released his top five at each position and has Amaro as the third tight end. DL Bennett Ofor is out for the spring with a torn ACL.

Texas Tech Breaks Into Polls: Well, well.  Texas Tech is ranked 28th by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and and 30th by the Collegiate Baseball (via TexasTech).  Texas Tech will host Oral Roberts this weekend.

Amaro's Draft Stock: NFL's Mike Mayock released his position rankings and has Texas Tech's Jace Amaro as the third best tight end in the upcoming draft (via NFL). I find that odd as I just haven't seen that Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Eric Ebron are both ranked above him.

Meanwhile, there was another article on NFL.com about how Amaro is trying to prove he a complete tight end (via NFL). Honestly, I don't think that matters really at all.  Amaro isn't like a typical tight end and any smart team isn't going to try to make him something he isn't, they're going to accentuate what he does do well.  As an aside, I don't get paid for this top-level analysis.

Best Student Section: Ah yes.  Texas Tech was named the best student section by the folks over at the Big 12 ESPN blog which means that they only partially hate you (via ESPN). High five to all of the students.

Ofor Out for Spring: I missed this yesterday and Friday, but DL Bennett Ofor, who I had projected as a back-up defensive end, is going to be out for the spring with a torn ACL (via LAJ).
