Texas Defeats Texas Tech, 34-13

Freshman quarterback Patrick Mahomes is knocked out of the game early and the Longhorns eventually defeat the Red Raiders, 34-13.

This kid should watch out, he's next in line to being hit helmet-to-helmet by a Longhorn.

It took the Longhorns actually hitting yet another Texas Tech quarterback with a helmet-to-helmet hit (I don't care what Tim Brando says), this time it was Patrick Mahomes is knocked out of the game by Quandre Diggs, in order to defeat Texas Tech, 34-13.  Mahomes was having moderate success against the Longhorns, but Texas Tech could not muster much of a scoring threat once Mahomes left.  Vincent Testaverde Jr., played well all things considered, but could never lead multiple sustained drives..

The Texas Tech defense played marginally well, but the big passing plays where the Texas Tech cornerback never looks back to the receiver that was the biggest issue.  It's amazing that this still happens, but this part of playing with youth in the secondary.

Still, it seemed like it took 3 quarters for the Longhorns to put the game away, and just think, it took the Longhorns that long to do that with a third string walk-on quarterback to do it.
