Here, have a burger.

Andrew Burton

Do you stress eat? Has TTU football made you gain 10 pounds in the past few weeks? I'm right there with you, so for your own good, scroll to the bottom of this page with extreme caution. (Hint: it's more #hotburgertalk)

TEXAS TECH RED RAIDERS v.
WEST VIRGINIA MOUNTAINEERS

Jones AT&T Stadium - 11:00am
This game is calling for a "
stripe out", but not in the traditional sense. It's actually pretty confusing. You may want to just carry a white, black, & red shirt with you to be safe. No gray. And no grey, either. No switchblades.

Cactus Theater Patio

ONGOING EVENTS:

Nightmare on 19th St

The Corn Maize

Apple Country Orchards
The Pumpkin Festival is this Saturday from 9am-6pm. They'll have all sorts of goodies available: apple pancakes, pies, turnovers, brisket, etc. Could be a good place to take the family after the end of an early game.

RECOMMENDATION OF THE WEEK:

Have a burger. A few weeks back, someone on VTM brought up something interesting: as far as food goes, what does Lubbock do really well? I immediately went to burgers. There are several local places to find a great burger, such as: Bonus Burger, Samburgers, Christakis, Mean Woman, The Crafthouse Gastropub, Spanky's, Cap Rock, Back 40, etc. Even the big boys can make a fine burger: Red Robin, Twisted Root, Blue Sky, & Five Guys come to mind. My vote is to treat yourself.

What say you, VTMers? What other great Lubbock burger joints are your favorites?

Also, keep an eye out for Hurricane Grill & Wings! Last I heard, they were pushing for an October 13th opening.
