It was announced (nothing official, just maybe on Twitter), I think the day after the Holiday Bowl, that television reporter Brandon Rawe would be leaving Texas Tech, for undisclosed greener pastures.  I loved what Rawe did for Texas Tech, I thought he helped Texas Tech step up their game in terms of a quality product that could be put on the internet. Rawe will be missed and we wish you well.

Conference Play to Start: The Lady Raiders start conference play tonight at 6:30 hosting #22 Oklahoma (via official site).

Texas Tech Dominates Mount St. Mary's: I actually was able to watch Texas Tech's dismantling of Mount St. Mary's, 100-69, which was played before the Holiday Bowl (via official site).  This wasn't really a contest and there were a handful of players that scored in double figures and Texas Tech shot 63% from the floor.  This game was the warm-up to Iowa St., who Texas Tech plays on Saturday afternoon.

RIP Kenny Thiel: Former Red Raider offensive lineman, Kenny Thiel, passed away yesterday at the age of 57 (via LAJ). Thiel was on the 1976 team that went 10-2.

Smith Eyeing NFL Career: I think a California paper that was maybe pretty familiar with LB Will Smith caught up with him after the game (via Press Enterprise). They asked him about how he hasn't been invited to the combine just yet or that he hasn't been invited to any of the senior all-star games.

East Texas Players Help Texas Tech: Just a quick note about how a handful of East Texas Players helped Texas Tech beat Arizona St., including Reginald Davis, Beau Carpenter, Pete Robertson and Ryan Bustin (via ET Varsity).

Additional Recaps: A couple of additional recaps, one by our friends at the DT who went to the game with the band, which is pretty cool (via DT) and about how QB Davis Webb dazzled as a true freshman in this game (via LAJ).
