In the wake of the Big 12 Media Days, my excitement for this season has grown exponentially. As of now, we are 33 days away from the first game of the season. That puts us 40 days away from the first home game of the Kliff Kingsbury era at the Jones!
With that, I can't help but think about what it will be like at 4th and University on September 7th. It could be a madhouse. It could be filled with a record number of Ray-Ban Wayfarers and even more Wayfarer knockoffs. RaiderMothraTron may distract pilots landing at Preston Smith. Who knows?
(I heard on the radio this morning that they were firing it up today to start the video/audio tests. Someone needs to alert our flight traffic controller!)
But, we do know the gist of how things go at home games. What are your favorite sounds and sights off of the field that take place before, during, or after the game?
For me, with no question, I always look forward to the Masked Rider leading those Red Raiders on the field. It gives me goosebumps every time.
What about our VTMers? Which part of the Jones Experience is your favorite? The Goin' Band from Raiderland? Tailgating? That delicious radioactive nacho cheese? There's no wrong answer!
(Quick Note: Thanks to everyone who sent in suggestions last week for places to visit during away games! I will be sure to include those in future posts along with some of your comments. Cited, of course. I wouldn't want my high school English teacher to find out otherwise.)
