1. Spike Dykes Charity Golf Tournament | I was lucky enough to be asked to attend a reception (last night) and the dinner (tonight) for the Spike Dykes Golf Tournament. I helped publicize it last year and this year, never expecting anything. So last night was a get together with the former players, coaches and administrators and it was very cool to be in the room with so many Texas Tech folks.

I am not the type of person that can interject themselves into conversations. These were people who were old friends and they were catching up on their lives. I didn't really fit in that respect. I was really a fly on the wall and that's cool enough.

I was going to go to the golf tournament today, but I have a good friend that needs help moving. This friend has helped me move twice and helped paint my old house. I haven't done anything like that for him. But I'm still going to the dinner. I should have some terrific stories for the next week or two weeks. I won't be live-tweeting anything tonight. I want to soak it in and I'll tell you all about it next week.

2. Harrell's Passing Camp | The LAJ writes about former QB Graham Harrell's passing camp held in Lubbock this week.

3. Damron and Moseley Turn Down MLB | Pitchers Ty Damron and Ryan Moseley turned down MLB offers to play for Texas Tech. Damron was a 13th round draft pick while Moseley was a 36th round pick. Welcome to Texas Tech!

4. More on Adams to Deaflympics | I think I linked to this last week, the LAJ has a new story on G Luke Adams who will represent the good old U.S. of A. in the Deaflympics in Bulgaria. Really terrific honor and happy for Adams.

5. 7-on-7 State Championship | I don't really keep up with a lot of this stuff, but 24/7 Sports has an update on the 7-on-7 state championship and it is good to see that Texas Tech commit Ian Sadler get some recognition:

Texas Tech seems to have gotten a perfect slot wide receiver for its offense in Sadler. He is short but pretty thick and and he has great speed. He pretty much single-handedly beat Houston Kinkaid with several deep receptions for scores. He is a solid route-runner and caught almost everything thrown his direction.

I think that commit QB Patrick Mahomes is also playing but I didn't see anything in an article.

6. Volleyball Roster Finalized | Volleyball coach Don Flora released the volleyball roster yesterday. Really hoping that Flora can get a few more wins this year as he seems like a good guy.

7. Where Are the Quarterbacks? Barking Carnival asks where all of the quarterbacks are for the Big 12 media days, especially after being such a quarterback-heavy conference in recent years.
