Odds and Ends

For those of you in the Amarillo and San Antonio areas the Tailgate Tour will rolling through your neck of the woods very soon. See the link for details.

TTU Red at Totally Texas Tech with some fantastic new pictures of the new video board.

This is strange and I am sure that there is a cease and desist letter on the way, but this is a really cool story about a World War II bomber jacket from the 22nd Bombardment Group, “a hell-bent-for-leather organization of men", and their mascot was the Red Raiders (hat-tip Permanent Record and UniWatch). Make sure and click the photo gallery and look at the back of the jacket for a look at the Red Raider. Really neat.

Ladies first. Congrats to Kim Kaufman for being named the Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year! Congrats to Finley Ewing, IV for being named All-Big 12 and Scholar-Athlete of the Year! This is really just fantastic news for both Kim and Finley. Congrats!

Congrats to Samantha Adams and Kenna Kilgo for being selected for the NCAA Doubles Championships!

The softball team will finish their regular season in Waco taking on the Baylor Bears. The LAJ with a really good story on how the softball team is young (5 freshmen starting at times) and taking their lumps now.

The LAJ has a story on how Oklahoma St. also has a new coach and their turnaround has happened relatively quickly for the Cowboys.

Per WreckEm24/7, Texas Tech picked up their 10th commitment of the 2014 class, Lincoln ATH Derrick Neal. Profile on the way.

SAEN has a story on teams that use music during practice, which includes head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

Ubben absolutely hates you and he has his Big 12 post-spring power rankings, which includes Texas Tech at #7. I really don't think Ubben hates you.

I'll get up a post tomorrow featuring this, but here's All-Access from the spring for cornerbacks coach Kevin Curtis. #
