OFFERS | From what I can tell, just Illinois Chicago and Texas Tech.
STATS | The NJCAA has the best list of all of Turner's stats, where he averaged 9.8 point a game, 2.9 assists and 2.2 turnovers per game. Turner only shot 42% from teh field and a disappointing 62% from the free throw line. The biggest take-away is that Turner did all of that while only averaging 13 minutes a game, so when he was in the game he lit it up. And if you're thinking that Turner only played 13 minutes a game so he must suck, well, no one on the team averaged more than 16 minutes a game and was third on the team in minutes and points per game. New Mexico JC is a really deep team and their coach plays a ton of people.
THE PLAYER SPEAKS | From the DMN and not Turner, but assistant coach, Brian Lohrey:
"Coach Smith really started recruiting him two weeks ago," Lohrey told RedRaiderSports.com. "He called (head coach) James Miller first and said he heard Rob was probably one of the better point guards in junior college. He came down about five days later and watched him play, spoke with him on campus and got to know him a little bit.
"I think Rob really respects Coach Smith for what he’s done and who he is and what he’s trying to do for Texas Tech basketball."
Robert, welcome to Texas Tech and Git Your Guns Up!
