Tennis
The ladies advance with a 4-3 win over Kansas St. Congrats! The men on the other hand, most likely had their season end losing to TCU 4-2.
Softball
The softball lost their first game in their three game series to Texas 8-6.
Baseball
The baseball team was losing to Oklahoma 8-0 last night before the game being suspended because of lightning. They are expected to finish the 9th inning today as weather permits.
Men's Basketball
A couple of notes. First, New Mexico Junior College point guard Robert Turner has committed to Texas Tech and will sign his letter of intent. Turner is a 6-1/175 point guard that averaged almost 10 points a game in just 13 minutes. Think about that, 10 points in just 13 minutes. Turner only shot 42% from the field, so that's my biggest concern. I think that shooting percentage translates to college as it has with Daylen Robinson and Jamal Williams. In other words, don't expect Turner to magically be a scoring guard that shoots at a high percentage. The DMN had a couple of quotes from Turner's JUCO coach.
Also, this TV station from the Concho Valley has confirmed that Joe Esposito has been tabbed as a part of head coach Tubby Smith's staff. Esposito has been with Smith at Minnesota as Director of Operations and was previously the head coach at Angelo St. He knows this part of the world.
Football
The DMN takes a look at the players that have a chance to be drafted, most likely today, in Cody Davis, LaAdrian Waddle and Darrin Moore. I have profiles on all of those players ready to go and be posted today if I'm around. The DMN also has a post-spring look at the quarterbacks.
