Morning links: odds and ends, soccer, track and field and men's basketball.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

ODDS AND ENDS | Think a good thought for Erleigh Norville Wiley, who has been named as the new District Attorney for Kaufman County. She is a good woman and she is a Texas Tech graduate. Her dad taught me driver's education and her mom was such a pillar of the community that they named the local children's shelter after her.

Hat-tip to Kottke, there is a hyperlapse of Google Street View:

One other odd and end that I enjoyed, here are the kids from the movie The Sandlot, back then and now.

SOCCER | The soccer team will be down Houston-way for a couple of spring matches.

TRACK AND FIELD | Congrats to Kennedy Kithuka for being one of ten student-athletes that is continued to be named on the Bowerman Watch List!

MEN'S BASKETBALL | I have a Q&A with the good folks over at The Daily Gopher later this morning about Tubby Smith. In the meantime, Wide Right & Natty Lite has Big 12 Pre-Season Power Rankings and I think that's probably about right, at least for now.
