It's Selection Time for the NCAA 2013 Women's Basketball Tournament. Where will the Lady Raiders be placed? The 5th, 6th or 7th spot are all being thrown out. "ESPN Bracketology w/ Charlie Creme" is guessing that Tech is placed 7th in the Southern Region going up against #10 DePaul.
As it is every year, things change quickly during March Madness. Norte Dame beat UConn in the Big East Tourney and so the Irish stand in the 2nd spot in the current rankings with Baylor at #1.
The top ten going into the bracket selection are the following:
1_Baylor
2_Notre Dame
3_Connecticut
4_Stanford
5_Duke
6_California
7_Kentucky
8_Penn State
9_Texas A&M
10_Tennessee
...
Most likely seven of the ten Big12 teams will be selected to play in the "Big Dance". Baylor(32-1) , Iowa State (23-8), Oklahoma (22-10), Texas Tech (21-10), Oklahoma State (21-10), West Virginia (17-13) and Kansas (18-13)
I am hoping the Lady Raider are placed 6th or 7th but preferably the 6th spot. It will be nice and hopefully an advantage for Tech to play on their home court.
The NCAA Women's Basketball Selection Special will be broadcast on ESPN at 6pm Monday March 18, 2013.
