Win four. Lose four. Win one. Pretty up and down and head coach Tim Tadlock is probably learning a lot about his team. Heck, I still can't figure out who the players are. I am basing the starting lineup on the last game's starting lineup and it is subject to change. The projected starters is accurate as of this morning. TBA is getting two consecutive starts. LAJ's George Watson details the various position changes:
Other than that, few players have remained consistent from one week to the next. In fact, of the nine position spots in the field (including designated hitter), Tadlock has started three different players in at least five different positions, and has started four different players at two.
“We’re trying to give each of these guys an opportunity, and we’ve still got some guys that haven’t gotten them,” Tadlock said. “But we’re trying to give guys opportunities (who) we feel like have earned that opportunity. We have changed some things in the lineup, but at the same time we’re learning a little bit each day for what we need to do.”
The DT's Paige Skinner also has a quick preview of the game.

GAME 1 | LaSalle 6, Texas Tech 5 (Official Site) | I didn't get a chance to update this game yesterday, but this was a heart-breaker. Texas Tech came out of the game with a 4 run second inning, and never really did much after that. LaSalle battled back and tied the game in the 8th inning off of Jerad McCrummen and Corey Taylor eventually relinquishes the lead in the 12th off of Corey Young. Dominic Moreno had a solid start after an abysmal start last weekend, giving up 3 runs in 5 innings with 5 strikeouts and 4 walks.
GAME 2 | LaSalle 0, Texas Tech 3 (Official Site) | Trey Masek is this year's version of Chad Bettis and Duke von Schamann. A complete game shut-out with 12 strikeouts and no walks. Just dominating. This game was actually close, a 1 run game, until the 7th inning. I think that Tadlock is still figuring out the offense because they're not producing like I think they want.
GAME 3 | LaSalle 0, Texas Tech 7 (Official Site) | Matt Withrow pitched 7 innings of shutout ball and only allowed 6 hits with 8 strikeouts and no walks. Andre Wheeler and Corey Taylor finished things off. CF Devon Conely was 2-4 for 3 RBI for the day and SS Jake Barrios was 1-3 with 2 RBI. As an aside, Tim Proudfoot was the starting shortstop pretty much all year last year. I think he's looking for a way to get Barrios and Proudfoot in the game at the same time and it may be at the expense of Alec Humphreys, who started most of last week at third base with Proudfoot and Barrios splitting time at shortstop.
