Saturday Morning Links at Viva The Matadors | 2013-02-02

Beckie selected to U-20 national team. The track and field teams are scattered and running this weekend. The golf and tennis teams are in action. The men's and women's teams tip at 12:45, the men play West Virginia and the women play Iowa St. Miscellaneous football links.

I did not get a chance to do a preview for the men's basketball game this morning. Had a lot going on yesterday. I'll get back on track next week (although with signing day approaching I shouldn't make any promises). The men and women's basketball teams play at 12:45 or so today. I think RndRckTTU has her game thread scheduled for 12:45 pm and I'll schedule the men's for 12:30.

* Marvin Shinn Profile - ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE - University of Alabama Official Athletic Site | You all mentioned in yesterday's links about the possibility of Shinn transferring to Texas Tech. When we talk about attrition, this is attrition. Saban very well could be telling Shinn that he's not going to have a spot next year. Shinn could very well just want to transfer on his own. Attrition.

* Major Applewhite disciplined four years ago for Fiesta Bowl improprieties - Barking Carnival | I don't usually link to other team sports issues, but the reason this is really something to watch is because the female track coach was essentially fired for the same offense in 2012. Hmm.
