It's going to be a busy day. The men's basketball team plays at 6:00 pm today and then we'll have all of the game threads later this evening. First game thread goes up at 8:00 pm.
LINKS
Bowls Undercutting Teams with Ticket Sales: I'll start off with maybe a controversial link, which details how these bowls are selling tickets by using online ticket brokers that undercut the price that the teams must sell their allotted tickets (via USA Today). So the Holiday Bowl folks are selling tickets online for $40 each while both Arizona St. and Texas Tech must well 11,000 tickets for $80 each. If there are any of those 11,000 tickets remaining, Arizona St. and Texas Tech have to buy them from the Holiday Bowl. Pretty good gig, huh? Anyway, the Holiday Bowl is the featured bowl an the bowl reps make it clear that these schools know what they are getting into when they accept the bid, which is true, but that doesn't seem to make it right.
What the Numbers Say: SB Nation's Bill Connelly breaks down this game like no one can and they numbers say that Arizona St. will roll (via SB Nation). I did have some folks that followed me on the Twitter and they do statistical analysis (don't ask me how) and they think they game is going to be a bit closer (via The Tempo-Free Gridiron).
LAJ Previews: The LAJ has a handful of articles, including the fact that Arizona St. forces turnovers quite a bit (via LAJ), they ask if Texas Tech can repeat history and pull off an upset similar to 2004 and beating California (via LAJ), plus projected depth charts (via LAJ) and matchups (via LAJ).
ASU Looking for Monumental Win: Arizona St. head coach is looking for a monumental 11th win for the Sun Devils (via AZ Central).
