TEAM COMMENT
#1 Oklahoma State (11-1) No games last week. The Cowboys take on Robert Morris (5-8) tonight, and open Big 12 play on Saturday at Kansas State.
#2 Iowa State (11-0) When I was on the radio being interviewed by Dave Shultz (103.7 The Game) at the beginning of the season he asked my sleeper picks for the Big 12 this year, I answered with Iowa State & Oklahoma. It seems I may have been right. The Cyclones won the Diamond Head Classic tourney and remain undefeated for the year. ISU beat Akron 83-60 and Boise State 70-66 to take the title. DeAndre Kane took home the tourney MVP with 23 points (4-6 from downtown), 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal in the championship game. Next up is Northern Illinois (5-5) on Tuesday and Texas Tech on Saturday.
#3 Baylor (10-1) No games last week. Up next is Oral Robert (6-6) on Monday and Savannah State (2-11) on Friday.
#4 Kansas (8-3) No games last week. Some more difficult games ahead this week for the Jayhawks as they take on Toledo (12-0) tonight and #20 San Diego State (9-1) on Sunday.
#5 Texas (10-2) No games last week. Up next for the Longhorns is Rice (5-6) tonight and open Big 12 play against Oklahoma on Saturday.
#6 Oklahoma (11-1) No games last week. The Sooners play Louisiana Tech (10-3) and then Texas on Saturday.
#7 Kansas State (9-3) The Wildcats played Tulane in the Brooklyn Hoops Winter Festival and whipped up winning 72-41. Shane Southwell had 19 points and 5 rebound. Next up is George Washington (11-1) on Tuesday, and Oklahoma State on Saturday.
#8 West Virginia (8-5) The Mountaineers played William & Mary winning 82-45. Juwan Staten had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Next up is Big 12 play with TCU on Saturday.
#9 Texas Tech (7-5) No games last week. Mount St. Mary’s (3-8) tonight should be a warm-up game for the Big 12 showdown in Lubbock against #14 Iowa State on Saturday! Wreck ‘em Tech!
#10 TCU (9-3) The Horned Frogs played against Texas Southern and had a nice win 77-64. Amric Fields had a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Next up on Saturday is West Virginia.
