If you get the chance, make sure and check out the first video.  The folks at Texas Tech, in particular Marshall Thornhill, are trying to help out Jim Anderson, who is the janitor at the United Spirit Arena.  He lost his home in a fire and he slept in a tent until the city told him he couldn't do that any more.  You can donate at First Bank & Trust Lubbock, 806-776-6804.

Jacobson to Start: Freshman S Tanner Jacobson will get the start at safety against Arizona St. and then he will leave on a two year Mormon mission to Bolivia (via LAJ).  Safeties coach Trey Haverty has lots of good things to say about Jacobson, who they hope will be back in two years to continue playing football.

Who Fills Ward's Spot? WR Eric Ward is set to receive his graduate degree and that means someone will have the opportunity to start at his X-receiver spot (via LAJ).  There are a handful of options, including Shawn Corker, Derreck Edwards, D.J. Polite-Bray, and Dominique Wheeler.  I'm not sure who I have my money on. It's always easy to go with the younger players. I suppose the presumption is that the older guys can't make a dent, but I wouldn't count out Edwards and/or Corker.  Meanwhile, on the Z-receiver spot, apparently Bradley Marquez has moved back after playing inside against Baylor.

Kelly Looks to Continue Stellar Season: Arizona St. QB Taylor Kelly is looking to continue his stellar junior season as the ASU quarterback (via AZ Central).   Kelly has accounted for over 4,000 yards of total offense this year and he's got some wheels to go with that arm.

SI Previews the Game: Sports Illustrated has a preview of the game (via SI).

Miscellaneous: The team was at the San Diego Zoo and played with animals (via LAJ) and Zane Gonzalez, a freshman kicker from Deer Park, is doing quite well for Arizona St. (LAJ).
