Congrats to TE Jace Amaro, LT Le'Raven Clark and LB Will Smith for making the first team Associated Press All-Big 12 and DT Kerry Hyder and WR Eric Ward making the second team All-Big 12 (Associated Press and official site). I have a tough time quibbling with these things most of the time, Lockett and Ward both had really good years, Lockett had more yards, Ward had more catches and they both had 8 touchdowns. I would have loved it Ward and Hyder would have made the first team, but I'm okay with the second team, they deserved those spots.

Bowl Swag: You like how I'm all hip and use the word "swag" to describe gifts? Me too. The Sports Business Journal released the list of the gifts that each team will receive and Texas Tech and Arizona St. will each receive $305 Best Buy gift card; Reactor Meltdown watch; Maui Jim sunglasses; and a cap. That's not a bad haul and like most young folks, they'd rather have a gift card than anything else.
Scout's All-Midland's Team: Scout has their All-Midland's team, which includes the following states, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and a handful of Texas Tech players make the cut, including QB Patrick Mahomes, RB Justin Stockton, and ATH Ian Sadler. Speaking of Ian Sadler, his Argyle team rolled Ralston last night, 42-8, and Ian Sadler ran 4 times for 23 yards, had 5 catches for 96 yards, while scoring twice. Fellow Texas Tech commit Connor Wilson, a defensive player primarily, also rushed for a 22 yard touchdown.
Bowl Schedule: SB Nation has a fantastic bowl schedule that's pretty to look at and functional.
Amaro a Finalist for Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award: Per the DMN, congrats to TE Jace Amaro for being named one of five finalists for the first Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, given to the top offensive player in Division I football with a Texas connection. The other finalists are TAMU's WR Mike Evans and QB Johnny Manziel, Missouri's QB James Franklin and Baylor's QB Bryce Petty.
