THE ANALYSIS

Key Matchup | Young vs. Tolbert: Even with Alabama, I think that Tolbert held an athletic advantage, but what a fantastic opportunity for Tolbert to try to corral Young, who isn’t a high scoring player, but he is a lot. And really, this should be a matchup that Tolbert dominates. There are few players that can match Tolbert athletically and Tolbert should get his 15 points tonight. I’d also mention that I think that the Kravic and Zanna matchup should be fun too as Zanna averages 15 points a game in just 22 minutes, so he’s putting the ball in the hoop. It will be interesting to see how Kravic and Kader Tapsoba try to play Zanna.

Take Aim: It’s a homecoming for Jamal Williams, Jr., who is from Brooklyn. How cool is that, to be able to go home and play a couple of games in front of your family? Williams, Tapsoba and Toddrick Gotcher are the big players off the bench and Williams might have his number called early because he’s a bit of a bigger player and might matcup well with Pitt’s sixth man Durand Johnson (6-6/205). I’ve always like Williams defensive ability and with Williams returning home, he might be a good play for head coach Tubby Smith. No matter what, Pitt has some big guards to contend with, so I do think that Gotcher, Hannahs and Williams are all going to have their hands full.
