Lady Raiders play Arizona State

This is the first BCS opponent the Lady Raiders face this season

Texas Tech Lady Raiders (2-0) basketball plays the Arizona State Sun Devils (1-1) for the third game of the season.  Game kicks off at 2pm CST in Lubbock at the USA. The Lady Raiders are coming off a win over the New Mexico Lobos on Wednesday (Nov 13th). Tech took a 10-pt lead in the first four minutes and never looked back. Half-way through the 2nd half the Lobos made a push and got to within 2 points but the Lady Raiders hit their shots from the field and their free-throws and pulled away. Amber Battle had an exceptional night with 17 points and 14 rebounds to beat New Mexico 64-56.

Arizona State and Texas Tech will be meeting for the 8th time. Tech leads the series 4-3. The last meeting between these teams was in 2012 and Tech has won 3 of the 4 last meetings. Lady Raiders and the Sun Devils play each other tough.

The Sun Devils Head Coach, Charli Turner Thorne is in her 17th season with Arizona State. Her career record is 342-237 and with ASU 302-197. Thorne is the winningest coach in Sun Devil women's basketball history. She has led the program to the postseason 13 of the last 14 years with 8 visits to the NCAA tournament.
