How is everyone? I feel like we haven't talked in ages. Has the bye week treated you well? Did you survive "Felina"?
Don't worry, internet, I have no plans to spoil Breaking Bad. Kansas, on the other hand, does have plans to spoil our undefeated season.
Let's #ATMO and get to 5-0, gentlemen.
Texas Tech v. Kansas - Lawrence
The VTMers came through again with some good recommendations. Here is a nifty Google Earth file for those interested. Thanks again, everyone, and chime in on the comments with more suggestions.
The Jayhawk Cafe (1340 Ohio St)
"The Hawk", as it seems to be known by the locals, has been around since 1919. It's less than a mile from Memorial Stadium and will probably be a great place to go once the game is over.
The Wagon Wheel Cafe (507 W. 14th St)
This place has something called the Wang Burger, which consists of a fried egg, cheese, and bacon. The Wheel is right across the street from The Hawk, and they are also known for their pizza. Not only that, but one eyewitness account refers to something quite remarkable:
We also met a Chiefs cheerleader who beat me shot gunning a beer. She was literally half my size.

Free State Brewing Company (636 Massachusetts St)
Thanks to IndianaRedRaider for making me wish I could make it up to Lawrence. This is my kind of place. It's also within a mile of the stadium. This is one of the few advantages of an 11:00am kickoff: you will have roughly 12 hours after the game to try all of these beers.
Dempseys Burger Pub (623 Vermont St)
The burger at the top of this website made me smile. It's only a block away from Free State. The proximity of these places means that we expect someone to hit them all in the same day. Do it! Do it for America!
Not sure how the bar picks up at night, but it’s an Irish pub like atmosphere. Kobe Beef Burger and the garlic fries are worth every penny.

RECOMMENDATION OF THE WEEK:
If you're in the mood for something different, give The Funky Door a try. You can be seated in their dining area for a quiet dining experience, or you can set up shop in the wine room. There, you can help yourself to a wide variety of wines with the use of a rechargeable money card. They offer delicious appetizers, and I recommend any of their fondues. If wine isn't your thing, there are plenty of excellent bottled beers available.
What say you, VTMers?
