The Lady Raiders (14-4, 4-2) play the West Virginia Mountaineers (11-6,3-3) tonight in Morgantown, WV at the WVU Coliseum at 6pm CST (7pm EST). The Lady Raiders are coming off a great week, last Wednesday they beat the Longhorns in Austin, TX and then on Saturday night they took down the #23 Kansas Jayhawks in Lubbock. Texas Tech has been playing aggressive basketball and have come out of the locker-room, in these last two games, and played hard. The Lady Raiders have been playing great defense but they have also improved on their FG% and 3-Pt attempts. They are not lacking at the free-throw line either with a +80% FT%. They are playing together and working off each other and making the plays happen. The game tonight with the Mountaineers will be the first meeting between these two teams.

The Lady Raiders coming off a great road win over the Longhorns, entered the game with #23 Kansas strong and scored first and went up by 11 points. Kansas could only get within 9 points in the first half as the Lady Raiders showed great defense and limited the Jayhawks to only 33 points. The Jayhawks made adjustments at the half and came out and went on a run to get within two points. The game was tight for the next ten minutes of play but then the Lady Raiders rallied and pulled away and won the game 70-63.

If the Lady Raiders can continue to play the way they have the last few games then they will continue to rack up the wins and will go far this season. Tech is in the 4th place spot in the Big12 standings. The Lady Raiders continue to do well at the Free-throw line and have improved on their 3-Point shots. This game will match the top two Big 12 defensive teams against each other. The Lady Raiders are only allowing 52.9 points/game and the Mountaineers ar only allowing 57.9 points/game.

TheMountaineers will have the height advantage and are strong on defense. The Lady Raiders will have to play a tightly controlled game and play their best defense if they are to beat WV. Tech will have to come out aggressive and stay ahead.

The WV Mountaineers are coming off a week where they won and then lost. They beat TCU 58-50 but then they lost to Baylor in Waco, 76-58. WV is struggling with their free-throws this season at 64.3%. Junior Guard Christal Caldwell has led the Mountaineers in scoring in the last three games and is currently the season's scoring leader with 12.9 points/ game. Fellow guard Taylor Palmer averages 12.2 points/game, and is scoring in Big12 play with 16.7 points/game. Senior Center Ayana Dunning scores an average of 10.2 points/game.

Texas Tech leads the Big 12 Conference in total steals with 215 in 18 games (11.9 per game). The Lady Raiders lead the Big 12 and are #12 in the Nation with a +6.28 turnover. The Lady Raiders have dominated their opponents by outscoring them an average of 13.7pts per game. Tech's FT% is currently 68.2%. Coach Kristy Curry is in her 7th season and her current record at Texas Tech is 123-91.

The Moutaineers Head Coach, Mike Carey is in his 12th season with West Virginia. His achievements speak volumes: a school-record 29 wins in 2009-10; the highest national rankings in program history; the most BIG EAST wins in school history; seven 21-win seasons in nine years (a school record); six consecutive postseason appearances (a school record); 21 career victories over ranked opponents, including the highest-ranked team in school history and the highest ranked road team in school history; victories over two eventual national runner-ups; two BIG EAST championship game appearances; consecutive NCAA tournament appearances (2007, 2008 and 2010, 2011, 2012) and six trips in nine years (2004, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012).
