OLYMPIC SPORTS
Boo! The soccer team lost in Morgantown to West Virginia last night, 3-2. The volleyball team opens play at the United Spirit Arena against Kansas today. The LAJ's Tommy Magelssen previews this match. I can't make heads or tails of what the women's tennis team is doing, but they are playing a lot of tennis.
BASEBALL
The baseball team held their first scrimmage of the year and they also have a blog post.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
LAJ's Nick Kosmider writes that Texas Tech hopes to have an interim basketball coach named within the next two weeks. I'll run down some options later, but ESPN's Andy Katz writes that current associate head coach Chris Walker, UNT assistant coach Rob Evans, former Nebraska coach Doc Sadler and Reggie Theus. I'm not sure that I like any of these options other than Walker. There was also additional allegations about former coach Billy Gillispie that came out yesterday and those things seem irrelevant now.
FOOTBALL
I'll start off with some national or Big 12 links: Barking Carnival looks back as last week in the Big 12 . . . Burnt Orange Nation looks at this week in the Big 12 . . . Sunday Morning Quarterback previews this Saturday's games . . . SB Nation with your week 4 football schedule . . . SB Nation talks with the screaming Marine from last week's UT v. Ole Miss game and you don't hush a Marine . . .
LAJ's Don Williams writes about the players taking some time off:
Alex Torres planned to round up some Texas Tech teammates and go golfing. Blake Dees was going to hang out at the pool. Eugene Neboh wanted to catch up on sleep, and J.J. Gaines planned to study — schoolwork and next week’s opponent.
