Red Raider Gridiron | It's Time

ROLL CALL AND RULES OF THE ROAD | So yes, there was a reason why I posted the 2012 DTN Roll Call and the Rules of the Road almost back to back. It's to remind you that we are all human beings and we all may not agree, but we are all Red Raiders. And when we are upset at the play on the field, and I do think we will be upset on the play of the field at some point this year, keep in mind that we're all human beings with families and kids and that we are Red Raider friends.

WHY YOU CAN'T GET CELL SERVICE AT JONES AT&T | This Ars Technica article isn't specific to why you can't get cell phone service to Jones AT&T Stadium, but it does explain why it is a problem everywhere and what cell phone companies are doing to solve this problem.

POWER POLLS AND BOWL PROJECTIONS | Turfburner's Jay Beck and RP's Joe Yeager have their inaugural Big 12 Power Polls of the year, meanwhile SB Nation's Jason Kirk and SI's Stewart Mandel both predict that Texas Tech will make a bowl game. Woot!

ADAMS LEAVES TEAM | There are no quotes or anything like that, just confirmation from LAJ's Nick Kosmider that DE Lee Adams has left the team on his own.

MyWestTexas writes about head coach Tommy Tuberville being in Midland yesterday and he still wants to win championships (I want him to win championships too) . . . Big 12 Sports' Wendell Barnhouse writes about the porous defense of 2011 and the hope that it is better in 2012 . . . someone had asked me what I like with uniforms and things like that and then I saw the logo on the letter jackets for all sports teams, via Happiness Osunde's Twitter, and if it were me, I'd go back to an old school logo because I think it is more prominent and I never understood the need to update an iconic logo and I'd love to had both red and black helmets . . .

MISCELLANEOUS | Matt Hinton returns to SB Nation and his comfortable home of Sunday Morning Quarterback (I am very happy to have Hinton back at SB Nation, who will also work at CBS Sports) . . . Pre-Snap Read's Paul Myerberg writes that the Texas Longhorns are the #6 team in the nation . . .
