GOLF | Congrats to Kim Kaufman , who won the South Dakota Amateur this weekend!
FOOTBALL | Big 12 Sports does a tour of all of the teams and yesterday they posted their report on Texas Tech. If you've been following along, then none of this is news to you, if it is not, then this would be a good summary of camp thus far.
LAJ's Don Williams profiles WR Javon Bell. When OC Neal Brown is asked about whether Bell is more effective going deep or catching the short passes, he said this:
"He can do both," Tech offensive coordinator Neal Brown said. "He’s practiced really well. He’s probably practiced better than any of them so far. He can accelerate. He can make plays down the field. Through five practices, he looks like what we recruited. Last spring, I was sitting there going, ‘Man, this doesn’t look like the kid I saw on video.’"
And Bell doesn't care if you try to grab his hair:
"A lot of people grab my dreads," Bell said. "Most of the time it doesn’t affect me. It just makes me madder, and I just go out there and perform and try to go harder to score on them."
Per DMN's Mike Graham, congrats are in order for former offensive lineman who has signed a contract with WWE.
1340 The Fan's Rob Brennen talks with head coach Tommy Tuberville about 2011 and 2012 as well as the music he likes.
Also per DMN's Mike Graham, WR Derreck Edwards told him that he didn't make the A-team his first year of high school. I know how you feel Derreck.
