Welcome, Dakorey. I don't know anything about you. Rather, I don't know much about you. It's not really your fault, well, if you have highlights on your Hudl profile that you haven't made public, then it is sorta your fault, but that's okay. I'll do my best to learn as much about you without me feeling creepy.

Welcome to Trinity Valley C.C. linebacker, Dakorey Johnson. A human being called Retweet King! (X_SpotsThaMark) congratulated Johnson as I don't think that RRS.com has released the name of Johnson just yet, but they did break the news of Johnson's commitment from what I can tell. Johnson re-tweeted this and he's posted some photos of him (here and here) in a Texas Tech jersey. As an aside, the equipment room looks like a mess, but I think they just received all of the new jerseys late on Friday, so please excuse the mess.

From what I can tell, Johnson is one of five junior college players that are in Lubbock this weekend making a visit. It wouldn't surprise me if Johnson might be one of a handful of players that could commit this weekend (I hope I have enough qualifiers there).

Stats

Last year was Johnson's first year at TVCC as a redshirt freshman and I don't think he started, but he did accumulated 52 tackles, 5 tackles for loss and 2 fumble recoveries, one of which he turned into a touchdown. That's not bad from a guy that didn't start.

More after the jump.

The Player Speaks

Nothing that I can find and that is free.

Scouting Report

Since we can't watch video, I'll try to pain the picture of Johnson's travels to TVCC. For the 2009 season, Johnson was a senior at North Mesquite and he was named 2nd team to his district 5A-11 Football Team. I can't find where Johnson was for the year between his arrival in Athens and graduating high school. So that means that Johnson is going to have to compete right away and will have no opportunity to redshirt. It's more common for JUCO players to have three years to play two.

So I can't tell you anything about Johnson's game or what he does well or doesn't do well. I'll update this post if we find anything new.

Dakorey, welcome to Texas Tech and Git Your Guns Up!

The 2013 Class

Johnson will definitely be a player that we have to watch over the course of the fall. Still waiting on grades for Rhodes and Chandler.
