"He’s just a good athlete," Williams said. "When you’re blessed to be that big, you will get attention, but he can really run and really move well."

Porter, who Williams said "is a legitimate 6-foot-6, 285 pounds," came to Marshall last season from Indiana, where he took up the game a year earlier at this mother’s behest.

"She made me go out and play," Porter told the Avalanche-Journal last week.
