GOLF | Texas Tech's Gabby Dominguez and Kim Kaufman are playing in the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championships. Good luck!

BASEBALL | I feel like I sorta broke this story yesterday when I had found that Seward C.C. SS Jake Barrios announced on Twitter that he was transferring to Texas Tech. And when I say "broke" that means I searched Twitter for way too long to find some sort of interesting news. So there's that. LAJ's George Watson talked with Barrios so you can read them there. Watson also notes that Texas Tech has also signed Cisco Colllege RHP/3B Corey Taylor, who was a freshman last year for Cisco and was 10-1 last year with a 1.39 ERA. I'll take it.

FOOTBALL | Yesterday, Texas Tech announced that QB Seth Doege, WR Eric Ward and LB Terrance Bullitt will represent the Big 12 Media Days for Texas Tech. I think that's a good group of players and can't argue with any of those decisions.

One of those interesting websites that I try to check in on every once in a while is called The College Football Matrix and the other day they predicted the Big 12 standings and records, and picked Texas Tech to go 7-5. CFBMatrix will release more detail later so you may want to bookmark that page. There's a lot that goes into how they pick the games and you can go here to read all about it. You can waste quite a bit of time here.'s Joe Yeager continues his series of Critical 20 and #17 DT Kerry Hyder. I think the #16 player was behind a paywall so I didn't link.

DMN's Mike Graham has a few quotes from Texas Tech commit QB Davis Webb after his competition at the Elite 11 tournament in Las Vegas:

"It went really good," Webb told Will McKay of "I won the Golden Arm Accuracy competition, and I was the most accurate quarterback there. I made it to the finals of the Elite 11. Coach (Trent) Dilfer told me to watch the show on Thursday I think, and he said I had a really good chance. They were in the war room yesterday, and they're picking 12 quarterbacks, and I think I could be one of them, so I guess we'll find out on that day."
