ODDS AND ENDS | Here are a few of long reads: Steve Kerr on Grantland as to the problem with the NBA age limit, GQ Magazine on former fugitive George Wright, Michael Ian Black in Vice (warning, there is lots of cursing) on if he should be concerned he doesn't want to have sex like men are perceived in media (last sentence, as crude as it was, made me chuckle), and The Classical with a good story a grandfather's basketball career 60 years ago.

GOLF | The Lady Raiders will tee off on Thursday for their NCAA West Regional Tournament.

TRACK AND FIELD | There were eleven Texas Tech student athletes named to the Academic All-Big 12 Team.

Sometimes it is tough for me to figure out just how good the two track teams are, and with the regular season ending, the men's team is ranked #3 and the women's team is ranked #6 in the nation. That's awesome.

TENNIS | Congrats to women's head coach Todd Petty who won Big 12 Coach of the Year two years in a row, while on the men's side, Raony Carvalho and Gonzalo Escobar received first team All-Big 12 doubles honors and first team All-Big 12 singles honors.

BASEBALL | Texas Tech took down Dallas Baptist, 5-0 (official site) behind Ben Flora's six shutout innings and the LAJ also recaps the game.

FOOTBALL | It appears that TE Jace Amaro may have broken his foot:

I have no other details other than this stinks and it seems like plenty of time to heal for fall workouts.

LAJ's Don Williams talks with WR Darrin Moore about last year and how they are working on the vertical passing game (watch out for this later today) and also talks about going up against his roommate CB Cornelius Douglas:

"I felt like we had a back-and-forth battle," Moore said. "He really grinded. He got a lot better this spring, as well as the rest of the defense. But I feel like me and him going together, we both pushed each other to the limit. We’re going to go hard every play, because we both want to get the best of each other."

For some good 2012 opponent looks, SB Nation's Bill Connelly previews New Mexico while Pre-Snap Read takes a look at Kansas, who he has ranked at #105.
