ODDS AND ENDS | Totally Texas Tech with more more campus photos.
BIG 12 | Texas Tech AD Kirby Hocutt talked about the hiring of new Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby (YouTube video) and there are also some quotes from Hocutt and Texas Tech President Guy Bailey in this article from LAJ's David Just (auto-play). ESPN's David Ubben also has quite a few quotes from Bowlsby's initial press conference.
TRACK AND FIELD | I really haven't had time to wrap my head around how well the track team did this weekend, but you can find the official site and LAJ's Don Williams recap of the weekend.
SOFTBALL | The softball team lost on Saturday, 5-0 (official site ), but won yesterday 8-2 (official site) against Oklahoma St. The third game is this afternoon.
BASEBALL | I'm not going to be able to update the baseball post this morning, most likely later today, but you should know that the baseball team beat the Aggies in 12 innings, 8-4 (official site). LAJ's George Watson recaps the game. Per the official site, congrats to Scott LeJeune for being named the Capital One Academic All-District First team and over this weekend, there was this really neat RaiderPower segment about hitting coach Jim Horner.
FOOTBALL | OANOW.com reports that the head coach Tommy Tuberville's motion to dismiss the lawsuit where he and business partner Tommy Stroud were sued for a variety of reasons, was denied. Tuberville had sought a dismissal because the plaintiffs in this case didn't specifically state what Tuberville had done wrong and the plaintiffs amended their suit to say that because Tuberville was an indirect owner and a manager that he should have known. Most of the time, judges are hesitant to dismiss lawsuits so this wasn't necessarily a surprise that he lost that motion and the judge said that he could re-file his motion to dismiss based upon the plaintiff's amended petition.
