ODDS AND ENDS | I'll be starting the profiles on the Texas Tech football commits and I'll be going in order that the players committed, so up first is CB Tavares Garner. I've waited a month thinking that the recruiting rankings would be updated for these players, but Scout, ESPN and 24/7 Sports are very much lagging behind Rivals at this point. Anyway, I'll just have to do a better job of updating the profiles throughout the year.

There's a 7 minute interview with AD Kirby Hocutt at the Amarillo Globe-News and it's pretty good. There are brief summaries in the article about his stance on a few things including a new video board that they are going to take their time and make sure it is done right, an indoor practice facility that is in the incredibly early stage and just determining if it is even feasible and that the football and men's basketball programs need to win and he thinks he has good leaders in Tuberville and Gillispie.

Two days in a row for TTU Red and Totally Texas Tech as he has additional spring pictures around campus. Excellent.

I love uniforms and ESPN's Paul Lukas runs down the changes to all MLB uniforms for the year.

TEXAS TECH FOOTBALL | Just a few miscellaneous links . . . LAJ's Don Williams has a short article on the dismissal of RB Ronnie Daniels, so there's that if you want it . . . BON's Harold Hill takes a look at the Rivals positional rankings and there are some Texas Tech commits that are mentioned there . . . I didn't get a chance to watch the Raider Power segment on DC Art Kaufman and I don't think I posted it on the front page (I think someone posted it in the comments -- shoutout!), but it is good and it does give me hope, although I fully admit that I tend to get sucked in and be hopeful pretty easily . . .

TEXAS TECH BASEBALL | Also a couple of links . . . LAJ's George Watson previews the Kansas series and notes that the Jayhawks are having a tough go at it this year . . . Crimson and Cream Machine succinctly updates the current status of Big 12 baseball . . .

RED RAIDER BASKETBALL | 1340 The Fan and the Sports Shack talked with head coach Billy Gillispie and they talk about the NCAA Tournament and at the end he talks about Texas Tech basketball, at the 10 minute mark or so. He does say that all of the players will be here in the summer and I think the late signing period starts in early April so maybe we will have some answers about the roster shortly.
