ODDS AND ENDS | I'm not a big gambler, the most I've ever gambled was $100, but I found the logic behind this story fascinating. The Atlantic profiles a man that broke Atlantic City, to the tune of $6 million, playing blackjack.

LADY RAIDER BASKETBALL | It was a slow start, but the Lady Raiders end up rolling to a 85-71 win over Eastern Illinois (official site). F Shauntal Nobles led the way with 18 points and 13 boards and G Chynna Brown, G Casey Morris and G Monique Smalls all scored in double-figures. LAJ's David Just (beware of auto-play video) recaps the game, LAJ's Nick Kosmider has a short story on Nobles big night and Just also files a notebook. Busy day for Just and crew. Here's a bit from the second story:

"In the first half I was dribbling before posting and coming up with a move (based on) how the defense was guarding me," said Nobles, whose strong performance also included a career-high 13 rebounds. "I was just taking my time (in the second half)."

TEXAS TECH SOFTBALL | I didn't think about it until just now, but a pretty cool spring break for the softball team as they get to travel to New York and New Jersey for spring break. Maybe I think it's cool because I'm old, but I've always wanted to go to that part of the U.S. Anyway, the team will play in the Seton Hall Classic (official site) where they will play in double-headers today and tomorrow and a final game on Sunday.
