Texas Tech Head Coach Kristy Curry
On sweeping a team
"I mean it's very difficult to do in this league, the thing about it is how hard we play defensively. When you can hold someone to 39 shots and you get 65, we've been at our best day when we've defended at that level but the energy and the effort on the defensive end really sets the tone for us, good things will happen."
On the run in the first half
"Well I know there for a while we held them, I think about the 10 minute mark at the first half was pretty impressive as far as our gap pressure and what we were trying to do and great help, and great energy by our posts by our post by keeping their feet alive and swimming through, just a great team defensive effort and when we can do that great things our going to happen at the other end."
On winning the two out of the last three games
"Well it's big just because they've worked so hard, these kids our confident they believe in what they're doing everyday they're together, we have no conflicts, we have no drama, we have no problems, we are in the Big 12 and we've got understand that consistency we need to have from our free throw shooting tonight to how hard we played on the defensive end I thought our focus was very good and we have to be consistent with our focus, it's not what's across the other team's chest it's what is across ours and how we need to play the game."
On converting off Missouri's turnovers
"Well it's important you always want to make sure you get to the foul line and make the other team pay, we feel like we can get that turnover if the defense is a little out of sync but it's just a good effort today and we've got to be able to do this back to back to back. You play in November to play in December and December prepares you for January and January prepares you for February and February is where it matters because that's going to get you to March or not each of those months are going to get you to where you want to go now we have to understand the importance of February and I don't think there is any doubt of that it's not like we are waking up everyday and mess up."
Texas Tech Player Quotes
On back and how she feels so far
"I've just been tying to get my conditioning just try to find my players, my teammates, and just try to be a person who scores or do my defensive job."
On her energy coming off the bench
"I just want my team to win and go far I don't care if I start or come off the bench I just want us to win."
On getting the win
"It was big I just think we need to keep the momentum up. Every game is important every game we want it to be a win for us to keep playing defense like that, Christine (Hyde) had five steals, five assists, we had 11 steals as a team so I think defense was a big part of it tonight and I think if we just continue then we will have success."
On Tech's defensive effort
"It was really big, but I mean we had 40 rebounds all together, so that's pretty, good. I mean I just think we worked hard and it shows from the stats that we put in work tonight and got the win so that's all that matters. I feel like we hustled and rebounded and it showed."
