Women's basketball, conference realignment and football.

Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury's introductory press conference is at 11:30 am today at the United Spirit Arena. The doors will open at 11:00 am. I have an open thread going up at 11:00 am and I think you can watch it live at TexasTech.TV.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

* Rebounding improves across Lady Raider lineup during last five games | Red Raiders | Don't forget that the men and women play Sunday. The women tip-off at 2:00 pm and the men tip-off at 5:00 pm.

CONFERENCE REALIGNMENT | MISCELLANEOUS

* How Under Armour designer got started - Sports Fans, Teams, Stadiums, Page 2 - Fandom Blog - ESPN Playbook - ESPN | I posted part one the other day (there is also a link there), but I thought this was interesting since Texas Tech is an Under Armour school.

* Big East's Weak Catholic Schools Call The Shots? - Courant.com | For whatever reason, I remember as a kid watching these Catholic schools and for some reason being fascinated that they were just basketball schools. I don't know why I was fascinated with DePaul and Georgetown. Pretty interesting situation.

FOOTBALL

* Apparently Eric Morris will be headed to Lubbock for a to-be-determined coaching position. And my official stance on Kingsbury's hires is the same stance I had on Tuberville's hires, which is I don't care if he retains some coaches or does not. I think it would be good to retain some of them because I like some of them as human beings, but I'm going to give Kingsbury the benefit of the doubt on every hire. They have to be his guys. I'm not at all worried about continuity at this point. We can totally do five defensive coordinators in five years.

* Open Football Practice Slated for Saturday - Texas Tech Red Raiders Official Athletic Site | Go watch the team and maybe get excited a bit about the bowl game. I'll have a lot more on the bowl game starting next week. Things sorta got busy since Saturday. I don't know whether or not you should expect Kingsbury to be there or if he's going to be on the road assembling a staff and recruiting.
