This is what you would call warm-up games. The first game is really a scrimmage, so I don't know if this would count for or against the win column. The other games should be wins, but honestly, I know nothing about any of these teams other than that they are not traditional powerhouse teams.

This is the month were things get interesting. Note that the first five games are at home and now you have the next seven games at home including all of the fairly major non-conference opponents. The big games are against Arizona, Alabama and Arizona St. I'm sure that Texas Tech will return the game next year. The games in between those major games are most likely wins, but there's a lot we don't know about this team so it's tough to even predict what should be a win or a loss here.

The first away game! Texas Tech will not play a game on the road until the conference starts. Amazing. Gillispie wanted to get some wins under his belt and now that will be interim head coach Chris Walker's job. I think that the Big 12 overall is going to be a lot like the football teams in that there may not be a truly elite team, but lots of really good and improved teams. The only teams that you could say aren't improved would be Texas Tech and TCU. I'd also maybe add Iowa St. as a team that might seen a downturn, but it's mostly because they had a lot of terrific players last year, namely Royce White, and terrific players are tough to replace. I'd also add that depending on the quality of some of the new players for OU and OSU, they could be dramatically better.
Texas Tech has two incredibly tough games after battling fellow cellar-dweller TCU, in taking on both Baylor and Kansas. Those two teams are the best teams in the Big 12. Then they go on the road for two Oklahoma games, which isn't bad. The rest of the schedule rounds in with the Cyclones and then traveling to Austin.

The month of February starts with two quality opponents in K-State and WVU and will have to play them within the month, which is a bit odd. Six of the final eleven games are at home and pretty much alternate to being at home, then on the road for the better part of the month. The first two games are the only two that are back-to-back home games. The only two back-to-back road games, other than the two Oklahoma games in January, are traveling to Ames and then Manhattan. The home finale is against Texas and that would be a sweet win to get.
