I don't know about the rest of you, but I like to fancy myself as a person that can pack everything he needs for a 10 day trip to Ethiopia in a carry-on bag.  Yesterday, I was able to confirm this and consider myself to be an expert when it comes to packing a suitcase.  In doing this you can't be afraid to either wear the same thing twice (which I'm not) or find a laundromat (which I will).  Part of my reason to pack light is that we're also bringing five checked suitcase.  I don't think I've mentioned this, but my wife will be staying in Ethiopia between when we travel this week and when we receive embassy approval, which is about four to six weeks.  We're trying to pack enough diapers, food, toys and things to entertain a 14 month old kiddo for six weeks without the comfort of home.  We're also bringing donations to the orphanages, which takes up two of our bags.  Good times.
