Texas Tech News, Notes and Links | 5 Things

Running late this morning, no time for anything else this week.

1.  Red Raiders Place Four on NFCA All-Region Teams - TEXAS TECH OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE and Tech softball seeks perfection at NCAA regional | Lubbock Online | Lubbock Avalanche-Journal
The Lady Raiders start their regional today.  Good luck!

2.  Red Raiders Sit 1-Under After Day One Of NCAA Tucson Regional - TEXAS TECH OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE and Tech golfers sitting sixth in NCAA regional | Red Raiders
From just reading briefly, the top five teams from each regional advance.  Need to make a move.

3.  Texas Tech Hosts Oklahoma State for Regular Season Finale - TEXAS TECH OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE and In case of Tech emergency, it's Popescu to the rescue | Lubbock Online | Lubbock Avalanche-Journal
A huge series for the baseball team.  Need at least one win, but could use some more.  It's so big, that the college baseball blog for ESPN deemed it the #8 series of the weekend in the entire country. And the second link is a good story from George Watson on the only senior on the team Nick Popescu.

4.  Killough gets last hurrah at QB - San Antonio Express-News
San Antonio MacArthur QB Clinton Killough will be walking on at Texas Tech and if MacArthur sounds familiar, it's the same high school at TE Jace Amaro.  Here's Killlough's Scout profile, which says that he doesn't have the arm for a college quarterback, but has lots of quickness off the line.  If you want to see Killough in action, you can just check out Amaro's ESPN video (he's the one throwing the football to Amaro).  The other walk-on quarterback that I recall is Lovejoy's Ryan Lusby (YouTubery).
