Please consider this to be your open day thread for National Signing Day. After the jump, I've listed all of the commits as of Tuesday evening, including new commit Javess Blue, although we all know, things change quickly. Also before the jump, I've listed the players that I've been able to gather that there is an outside shot that Texas Tech might sign letters of intent and some resources to follow. Expect the information to be fast and furious in the morning and to help carry the discussion throughout the day, some questions for you guys and gals to cuss and discuss throughout the day.
I should mention that the link to the official site does have a Cover-It-Live interface that starts at 8:00 a.m. and you can apparently sign up for text message alerts when commits sign the letters of intent:
Fans can opt-in to receive text message alerts directly to their mobile devices. Text TTUFB to 51234 to sign up for signing day alerts. Fans will receive up to 25 messages on this day only.
And of course, you also have your subscription websites and would just like to ask everyone to please not post any information that's behind a pay wall. Just wait a bit, get creative and figure out some other way to find the information.

Sometimes when I'm bored, I do a quick Twitter search and yesterday learned that DT Donte Phillips (Indiana commit early in the process, but is currently looking because the staff he was committed to is no longer there) would be visiting this weekend and would not be signing a letter of intent today. Here's some video of Phillips and it will be interesting to see if that offer is still out there after today. I then thought that there's no doubt that the staff is scrambling to find defensive tackles that are currently uncommitted and throw out an offer. I then took a look at the Rivals, Scout and ESPN sites to figure out if there was a way to determine if there are any other defensive tackles that have an offer from Texas Tech. I couldn't find anything on Rivals. ESPN has a "Considering" tab. I did find on Scout you could look at Prospects and then sort by position. This is the link for defensive tackles and there are still some defensive tackles that are uncommitted but hold a Texas Tech offer. Now, I know, that Scout isn't the most up-to-date service, so take these prospects with a grain of salt.
WR/DB Javess Blue (5-11/180) Lake Wales Senior HS, Lake Wales, FL, has committed to Texas Tech yesterday. I've got his profile listed below and was one of the last things I did before hitting submit on this post. Blue does have some grade issues and according to LAJ's Don Williams, Blue is signing a LOI with Texas Tech and with Butler (Kansas) C.C. (As an aside, I think Texas Tech hired one of Butler's assistant coaches, but can't remember who that was. Any help?) Probably not a coincidence that Blue is considering Butler C.C. A little bit of background on Blue, prior to the 2010 season, he was the #8 receiver in Florida. In 2009, Blue caught 49 passes for 1,010 yards and 11 touchdowns. In 2011, those numbers went down where he only caught 39 passes for 764 yards and 9 touchdowns. That's about a 19 yard per catch average and it's not bad (Compare that to Derek Edwards who caught 39 passes for 575 yards and 4 touchdowns his senior year.) although it's down from his junior year. Blue also said that a big factor was that high school friend Ben McRoy said Blue would fit in at Texas Tech:
“Ben told me I’d fit right in (at Tech),” said Blue, who described the McRoys as lifelong friends. “We’ve been competing all our lives. We always played Little League against each other, ran track against each other. We’ve basically got their family chemistry.”
Blue's high school coach also vouches for Blue's speed:
“He’s a phenomenal athlete,” said Shafer, whose team went 11-2 in 2009 and 9-2 in 2010. “He’s as good as we’ve ever had at the school. Everyone says people run 4.3s. He runs a 4.41 every time. To me, that’s just fast.”
I'm tired and I've got nothing else.
1. Who do you think is the most important offensive commitment?
2. Who do you think is the most important defensive commitment?
3. Who is the "sleeper" of the offensive commitments?
4. Who is the "sleeper" of the defensive commitments?
5. Overall, how would you grade this class (for fun, let's use a letter grade of A, B, C, D or F)?
And remember, copy and paste the questions into your comment.
Every current commit is after the jump.
