Well, yesterday was fun, maybe/hopefully we can get to some on the field things today. Later today, I'll have a profile on newest commit RB Quinton White.

Red Raiders football notebook: Musical Raiders | Red Raiders
You sorta hate to hear this in the middle/end of the season:
"I think we’ve got a good game plan," Tuberville said of facing No. 2 Oklahoma State on Saturday. "Got a few changes in our personnel, some new alignments on both sides of the ball."
Maybe this means going back to the Pistol on the offensive side of the ball and maybe this means a 10 man front on the defensive side of the ball.

The only news here is that CB Eugene Neboh practiced yesterday, which is good news for a depleted secondary.
Oppontents' running success foils Tech's pass rush | Red Raiders
A little bit on the pass rush, or lack thereof, as a result of the run defense being so porous. Here's Tuberville on the line and I think this is an accurate description of the problems (i.e. when the line tries to stunt, they leave holes along the line creating lanes for the running backs):
"You’d always like more," Tuberville said. "I think the area that we haven’t got as much push would be the inside guys, pressure up the middle. We’ve tried twists and crosses and doing all kind of games with tackles and ends, but a lot of times, too, you worry about losing contain. So that’s an area we do need to improve."

Jordan Goodman Decommits (Again) | ZagsBlog.com (hat-tip Big 12 Hoops)
Goodman was the best recruit that was set to arrive next year, but has decommitted from Texas Tech. I'm not surprised, but I am disappointed. Goodman was one of the top players in the country, top 100 or 150 I think, but he has committed and decommitted to a handful of colleges including Maryland and Georgetown I think.
Big 12 Hoops Preview, Part 1: Giving thanks and Big 12 Hoops Preview, Part 2: Giving thanks
A good preview of the Big 12. Nice to see that G/F Terran Petteway gets a mention as one of the better incoming freshmen in the conference:
Texas Tech SG Terran Petteway – Billy Gillispie's team is extremely young, but that doesn't mean it is without talent. Although Petteway flew a bit under the radar with recruiting sites at Galveston (TX) Ball High School, he had an impressive list of offers and excelled on the court, making the 4A all-state team twice. Petteway is a long, rangy, athletic guard blessed with size (6'6") and speed. He stands out in transition, going to the basket with attitude and finishing with an array of moves. Petteway posted a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds in Texas Tech's exhibition romp over Our Lady of the Lake University. Get him out on the open floor, and Petteway will deliver early and often.
Observations from Tech's win over Our Lady of the Lake | Red Raiders
I missed this yesterday, but new LAJ reporter Nick Kosmider had some thoughts on the exhibition win over Our Lady of the Lake, including this on freshman PF Jordan Tolbert:
Jordan Tolbert is an intriguing post presence for the Red Raiders. The 6-foot-7 freshman from Dallas asserted himself on Saturday. He scored 23 points, with most of his field goals coming on dunks. Tolbert may be the team's most athletic player, and Gillispie has raved about his long, explosive frame. Tolbert still has plenty of strides to make in terms of game awareness and decision-making, but his natural talent should be a major benefit for Tech this season.
Lots of other good thoughts there, including thoughts on point guard and the turnover problem in the two exhibition wins (close to 60 in just two games).
