Tech Volleyball plays #18 A&M on Wednesday, Nov. 02, 2011 at 6:30pm CST at the Reed Arena in College Station, TX.
Tech played A&M a few weeks ago in Lubbock. The Match was a tough and grueling Five Sets. Tech lost the Match in the 5th set. The final breakdown for the Sets : 26-24, 21-25, 25-20, 17-25, 15-13.
This is the 10th Conference game for both Tech and A&M.
The Lady Red Raiders are 2 wins shy of the first winning season since 2001. Tech still has 7 conference matches left and one non-conference matchup remaining at San Jose State. The Tech VB team's last winning season came in 2001 when Tech finished 18-14 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
Tech is coming off a win over Baylor, which snapped a 13-Match losing streak against Baylor. The Aggies are coming off a win over Kansas.
Junior Tory Vaughan was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week Monday after recording a career-high 31 digs in the Red Raiders' five-set victory over Baylor on Wednesday.

Current Record: Tech (15-9, 1-8) had its first conference win against Baylor a week ago. A&M's current record is 17-5, 6-3.
Coaches: This is Don Flora's first season coaching the Lady Red Raiders. Laurie Corbelli is in her 19th season as the head volleyball coach at Texas A&M. Her current record at A&M is 393-191.
Competition: The match will mark the 80th time these two teams have met. A&M holds the lead 53-26. This will be the last time Tech will play A&M before the Aggies head to the SEC.

Texas Tech is ranked 7th in the nation in Blocks per Set. Three Red Raiders are ranked in the top 10 in the Big 12 for blocks per set for the full season. Dravon Rangel leads the league with a 1.53 block average. Aubree Piper is sixth in the Big 12 with 1.12 blocks per set, and freshman Mikia Mills is eighth with 1.09 blocks per set.
Senior outside hitter Amanda Dowdy is ranked third in the Big 12 and 40th in the nation with 4.06 kills per set. She also is third in the league and 49th in the country with 4.54 points per set.
