PREVIEW

WHAT TO EXPECT | Since this is the first game, I'm not sure what to expect. I did find an article on one of Troy's exhibition games against West Alabama and it's apparently almost an entirely new team, they're going to press, and has just one player over 6'7". I wish I could offer you a bit more, but that's all I have. From Texas Tech, I think you'll still see a rotation of players as Gillispie tries to settle who is going to see a majority of minutes, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Gillispie run almost every scholarship player that's available onto the court. As you may, or may not know, C Kader Tapsoba, F Jaye Crockett and PG Kevin Wagner are all injured in some form or fashion and I'm not sure when they'll be back, but Gillispie said that it wasn't season ending injuries.

KEY MATCHUPS | There's going to be a lot of pressure on the Texas Tech guards and I'll be looking forward to seeing if freshman PG Toddrick Gotcher will be able to handle the pressure. Gotcher didn't start the first scrimmage, but he started the second scrimmage and played well. Javarez Willis started the first scrimmage and played well. SF Jaron Nash also has played well in both scrimmages and will most likely get the start in some form or fashion, as will freshman SF Terran Petteway who didn't score a lot, but seemed to do a lot of little things. Both Nash and Petteway play defense so I'm interested to see if they'll be able to keep pace with the smaller Troy lineup.  The consistent scoring threat has been Robert Lewandowski and I should also mention Jordan Tolbert has a low post game that he exhibited in the second exhibition game.

FOUR FACTORS | Need at least one game on the books before the info will be ready.
