Tech Soccer plays #2 Oklahoma State on Thursday night on TV (Fox Soccer)

 Tech Soccer plays the biggest game of the season against OSU in Stillwater, OK on Thursday night (Oct 27, 2011)  at 7pm CDT at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex.  This will be the 18th meeting between these two teams.  OSU leads the series 11-5-1.  The game is being televised on Fox Soccer.

Tech is in 4th place in the Big 12 behind #2 OSU,  #13 Baylor and #17 A&M.  The competition is extremely strong this year.  The Big 12 has 3 teams in the Top 20. The Big 12 has the nation's top scoring offense (Texas A&M @, 3.63 goals per game) and the country's third best defense (Oklahoma State @ .307 goals allowed per game).

Time to get the "Karma" magic working for the Lady Red Raiders.  Tech has lost the last 5 games with OSU.   OSU's record at home is 9-0-1 this season and has a record of 39-3-1 since 2008.

Current record:

Tech's current Conference record is 3-3-1 with an overall play of 10-6-2 currently ranked 64th.  Oklahoma State's current record is 5-0-2 in Conference and an overall record of 16-0-2 and currently is #2 in the country.

Player match-ups to watch:

Tech's Taylor Lytle (MF) and Jessica Fuston (F) will be going head to head with the OSU's Krista Lopez (F) and Taylor Mathews (MF).  Fuston and Lopez both have 8 goals this season.   Fuston has 55 shots and 8 goals and Lytle has 58 shots and 1 goal and 3 assists this season.  OSU's Lopez has 55 shots and 8 goals and 8 assists.  Mathews has 55 shots and 5 goals and 4 assists.

On the defense side, Tech's Victoria Esson (GK)  will be defending the Tech goal.  OSU has Adrianna Franch (GK) and Medina Rose (GK).  Esson has faced 167 shots and has 51 saves this season. Franch has faced 129 shots with 45 saves and Rose has faced 66 shots and has 22 saves.

Tech is coming off a tough loss to Iowa State in a double overtime game in Ames, IA.  Oklahoma State is unbeaten.  The Cowgirls are coming off a scoreless game with A&M (0-0,2OT).


Tom Stone is coaching his 5th season at Tech. (44-40-10).  Colin Carmichael is entering his 6th season with the Oklahoma State Cowgirls (110-27-19).

Last year:

The Lady Red Raiders finished the 2010 season 11-8-1. Finishing 7th in the Big12.  Tech has 11 Starters returning and 9 newcomers.     The OSU Cowgirls finished the 2010 season 20-4-2 and finished 2nd in the Big12 Conference and won the conference tourney.  They have 10 Starters returning and 11 newcomers on the team.    Tech lost to OSU last year 2-0
