The Lady Red Raiders are 3 wins shy of the first winning season since 2001. Tech's magic number to ensure a winning season is at three entering Wednesday night's match.  Tech still has 9 conference matches left and one non-conference matchup remaining at San Jose State.  The Tech VB team's last winning season came in 2001 when Tech finished 18-14 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

The Red Raiders have held their opponents to a combined .128 hitting percentage so far this season, which is the lowest in the Big 12. Tech also has held their opponents  to the least amount of Kills of 10.99.

Keys to the Match are to strike first. In the matches that Tech has won the first-set, Tech has won the match 13-1. When Tech has dropped the opening set, the Lady Red Raiders have struggled and are only 1-5 in winning the match.

Tech is coming off losses to Texas and Missouri which were both away games.

Article on the Assistant VB Coach Jojit Coronel

"So while most of us will continue to follow the ball during play--and doing that usually generates the most excitement for a fan--Coronel will continue to observe the entire court as he suggests adjustments and helps players understand tendencies of the opponents."
