Five Questions | One Scrimmage In The Books

Five_questions_-_tiltshift__resize__medium

1.  The first scrimmage is in the books and QB Steven Sheffield proclaimed that QB Taylor Potts was the winner in the quarterback race.  How do you feel about Sheffield being so honest (assuming that he is being honest, why would he lie?) about the quarterback race?

I'm going to shoe-horn this in, since this is the only link I found this morning was DMN's Chuck Carlton on OC Neal Brown, who knows that the honeymoon is about to be over:

Tommy Tuberville has the responsibility of replacing Mike Leach, the head coach who straddled the line between certified genius and just certifiable.

Brown has potentially the harder task. Leach, the offensive coordinator and play-caller, was one of college football's best for a decade. Three Tech quarterbacks led the nation in total offense during the Leach era. The Red Raiders produced yards and points sometimes at will.

"There's going to be darker days. There will be ups and downs," Brown said. "There's not going to be 12 games of 500 yards passing and 50 points.

"I told my wife the other day this honeymoon is getting ready to be over. You've got to play someday."

2.  The SMU game is only 20 days away, what concerns you right now and what gives you comfort?

3.  You'll have to go to the jump, but thanks to TTpilk645 who put together the spreadsheet and emailed it to me, we not only have a list of the weight loss, which has been one of the big stories thus far this early fall practice, but there's been quite a bit of weight gain from more than a handful of players.  Two questions here, what is the most impressive weight gain and what do you think will be the most important weight gain?

4.  Same type of question as #3, what is the most impressive weight loss and most important weight loss?

5.  OT:  There's only two shows that I'm currently taping on my DVR because I don't ever want to miss them in between my wife taping every reality show known to man, Mad Men and No Reservations.  As an aside, perhaps the best television I've seen all summer was the No Reservations episode on Liberia and it made me consider how ignorant I am about a lot of things in this world.  Back to the question:  What television show do you watch during the summer months to bide your time until the season starts?
