Recruiting on the High Plains :: OL Le'Raven Clark

I'm slowly but surely catching up on last week's flurry of commitments.  On deck for DTN profiles are DE Kindred Evans tomorrow and DB Freddie Warner on Wednesday.

The Measurables:

Le'Raven Clark
Position: OL
DTN Profile
Video: Clip 1
Rivals Profile 5.7
Scout Profile
ESPN Profile 79
Ht: 6'6"
Wt: 245 lbs
Forty: 4.90
High School: Rockdale (Rockdale, TX)

The Player Speaks:  Haven't been able to find anything on Clark regarding his commitment to Texas Tech.  Last year, Clark was named first team on both offense and defense for District 3A-24 and was the only player to be named to both first-teams.  The only other newsworthy item regarding Clark is that he competed at the UIL state track meet and threw the discuss 164' 3".  Someone let me know if that's good.

Video:  I can't embed the video, but it's worth your time.  Check it out.

Scouting Report:  I really like Clark's film. Perhaps the thing that I took away from watching him was that he really looks like an athlete. Looks really fluid as a left tackle and although Texas Tech seems to be recruiting Clark as an offensive tackle, I came away impressed with his work as a defensive tackle. I'm probably getting a little bit excited , but the more I watch, the more I think that Clark has some serious athletic ability.  Just like a lot of freshmen, Clark will need to add weight his first couple of years, but athletically speaking, he's got it down. I'm a little bit reminded of Beau Carpenter in the sense that if the offensive staff is short on tight end, I think that Clark could step-in immediately and be a pretty good blocking tight end. Again, I'm shaking my head in how raw athletically Clark is for his size. Yes, please.

Le'Raven, welcome to Texas Tech and Git Your Guns Up!

The 2011 Class:  Updated as much as possible.  Still a handful of players that haven't received any sort of grade, but I would expect that more grades come out as more players compete on 7-on-7 tournaments and as more summer camps take place.
